Mindful Mondays
We’ve started a tradition here at The Happiest Mom: each Monday, I’ll share something, a single, simple thing, that I’m focusing on for the week. Maybe it’s getting my house in order; maybe it’s spending more time with the kids…an intention that will help me shape and prioritize my week.
I follow this formula:
WHO: Who is involved in this intention? Who will need to act?
WHAT: What is the one thing, idea or principle I want to focus on this week?
WHY: Why is this a priority right now?
HOW: What are the specific steps I’ll need to take to make this happen?
Want to play along? I invite you to create your own intention for the week and post about it, either in the comments or on your own blog! You can see all the Mindful Monday posts here.
Here’s a badge you can use on your own blog, if you’d like. Just grab the HTML below and paste it in your sidebar or post.

My intention is to deep clean my kitchen. I was at a stop light the other day and wrote down 8 projects I need to do in my kitchen to get it tip top. I am 3 months prego and starting to feel the urge to nest already! So, 8 jobs, 8 days! Hope I can do it!

Well, it’s already Tuesday… but it’s never too late to start being mindful… right? This week when my family is talking or complaining about things, I will try to listen more and ask more questions rather than jumping to a quick answer to fix it or stop the whining. I want my family to know they are listened to and I want to help my kids learn to problem solve for themselves.

I’ve finally recommitted to yoga. To make this happen I get up at 6 each morning to do a 30 minute practice before the rest of the fam gets up. Sure it would be better to do an hour, but that’s not realistic for now. As is I’ve been doing this for nearly 6 week for a minimum of 5 days a week. I am super pleased with my progress! Next I want to get back to walking; aiming for minimum of 3 20 min walks a week. Basically get my butt out the door.
