Great post Meagan! Thank you for using my tip!

In our school district we have a school supplies service that will deliver all your school supplies (exactly per teachers request) for you. It’s a flat fee, (cheaper than doing it yourself), I imagine they buy in bulk. All the pencils are sharpened, etc. We order in April, and they deliver to us in May. It’s great.

All I have left to buy are indoor school shoes (don’t think they require this in the USA do they), and kleenex.

If there are any entrepreneurs out there reading, this might be a good business!

My best tip: learn from other moms who have been there before, like you and fellow readers! My son will be starting preschool for the first time next week, and I can already appreciate the references to paperwork, materials lists and snack schedules (all new to me!) LOL It is a first for all of us…so every little bit of wisdom I’ve read from other moms has offered a wonderful sense of camaradarie AND great ideas!

We have gotten so out of our school year schedules that I definitely plan on easing back in gently. We will start a week early to get back into normal sleep schedules for sure. And I think “be kind to yourself” should be embroidered on a pillow in every mother’s family room.

I agree with mommyknows get into a bedtime routine about a month before school starts or better yet keep a routine going all year. Although, that’s impossible for me I would also suggest not stressing the kids out with too much planning
